You might be wondering…

Q: What can I expect if I work with you as a consultant?

In a first call, we will get to know one another a bit. I’ll ask you about the problem or opportunity you want to address. We may kick around a few ideas for possible paths forward, though further discovery work may be needed. If it makes sense to pursue a possible engagement together, I will write up a proposal for your consideration, and we can iterate from there.

Q: What can I expect if I work with you as a coach?

After an initial discussion of your goals and possible approaches, you can expect me to build trust, listen deeply, ask thought-provoking questions to help you find your own answers, provide observations, and hold you accountable to achieving your objectives. Different coaching packages are available based on your needs.

Q: Do you serve a particular client niche?

I greatly enjoy smaller, fast-moving companies that are committed to growth and pursuing an inspiring mission. Clients in industries like medical devices, pharma, healthcare, technology, and consulting are a sweet spot for me. But I'm always up for something new - I love diving into unfamiliar domains and finding a path forward alongside curious, learning-minded people.

Q: I’m not sure what I need. Should I still reach out?

Yes, not knowing is common! We'll explore the ambiguity together. Through questions and an outside perspective, I'll help identify root causes and high-value actions. Many clients gain clarity in our first conversation. A "discovery" phase to assess the current state before proposing solutions is often valuable, saving time and money long-term.

Q: What’s with the forest theme?

I chose a forest because to me it represents wayfinding within a diverse and complex ecosystem. I often describe organizational development work as wayfinding, and I think it applies to coaching too. Technically speaking, “wayfinding” is about helping people “reach a destination that is not in the immediate spatial field.” In other words, it is about navigating ambiguity. I like to help people to discover ways forward when solutions aren't obvious. Considering the unique ecosystem you are operating in, we will leverage the best of our combined experience and knowledge, blended with experimentation and iteration to discover and walk the path towards your success.

Q: How do I pronounce your last name, Taffee?

Contrary to what you might expect, our family pronounces our name Tay-Fee. Fun fact: the original spelling in Ireland was Taaffe, pronounced Taff, but it was changed when our ancestors immigrated to North America.
